Introducing Market Form V1– An Industry Leading Initiative
Market Form shows how bookmaker prices for each horse changed throughout the day, based on continuous market monitoring rather than isolated snapshots.
Prices are captured at key stages — from the opening market, through the morning and afternoon, right up to the final pre-race position — so you can see exactly how betting sentiment developed as race time approached.
The Final price represents the last recorded bookmaker odds before the race started, giving you a true picture of where the market finally settled.
Think of Market Form as your second Racing Form Book — a compressed timeline of the best available bookmaker prices throughout the day.
How to read Market Form
Market Form should be viewed as a timeline from opening price to race time – not separate AM/PM figures. It shows the journey of the price, not just the start and finish.
We record all market movement for every horse, then compress it into eight meaningful stages so the story of the market is easy to read.
The SP labels are generated using the percentage change between the final pre-off price and the official Starting Price.
- Bigger late shortening = stronger support
- Bigger late drifting = stronger negative move
- Small changes = minor / neutral
Price bands are adjusted automatically, meaning big-priced horses require larger moves to qualify.
